Susan has been studying art, drawing and painting for over thirty years; while also working in non-profit organizaitons in Texas, New York City, Boston and San Francisco. She paints in watercolor, oils and acrylics on a variety of surfaces.
The natural interplay of light with color, form and texture are what intrigue Susan and inspire her painting. She says that "painting suspends time - life slows down and a sense of wonder and appreciation arises in seeing the beauty that surrounds us. That is my joy in painting."
Susan relies on the collaboration and support of several communities of artists in California and Spain. She is also grateful to her husband, Leland, whose digital photography, computer expertise and encouragement are critical to her artwork.
